Under this project, a family visiting program is running, where volunteers from the community are trained to form a village team visiting identified families with orphaned children on a regular basis to assess their needs and offer support.
Support to families caring for Aids orphans may include assistance with clothing, food, blankets and agricultural inputs.
Where children attending primary and pre-primary school receive a meal every day, there are still a number of children not attending school, especially children between the ages of 2 and 7. As a result of extreme poverty, the food these children receive at home is minimal, and going without the basic nourishment is harmful to the health and development of the children. Without enough food, the children become weak and susceptible to illnesses. Soup kitchens in Tjova and Mbapuka were started to provide daily nutritious meals to this group of children.
